Job Description
Pakistan Security Printing Corporation (Pvt.) Limited, (PSPC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of State Bank of Pakistan and is the nation’s sole security printing entity responsible for producing banknotes, passports, and other security documents.
PSPC is looking for a dynamic, high caliber, experienced professional to strengthen its research & development capacity and now invites applications from highly talented Pakistani nationals possessing requisite qualification and experience for the following position:
The incumbent, on a regular basis, is responsible for leading research and development initiatives to strengthen the corporation’s products and their input components. It focuses on improving processes, enhancing formulations of raw materials, inks, and papers, and ensuring product durability, security, and consistency. The role also involves optimizing manufacturing processes and translating innovative ideas into practical, scalable solutions that enhance efficiency.
Key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to, the following:
- Lead scientific research and development to improve inks, coatings, papers, substrates, and other materials used in security printing.
- Explore and apply innovative technologies and processes to strengthen product quality, durability, and anti-counterfeit features.
- Conduct chemical and material testing to validate product performance, consistency, and reliability.
- Plan, conduct, and evaluate lab- and machine-scale trials for alternate raw materials and new product development.
- Investigate technical problems raised by operations and ensure timely resolution with practical solutions.
- Supervise and monitor new and ongoing R&D projects, ensuring optimal use of manpower, resources, and equipment.
- Interact with departmental managers on development projects, gather technical feedback, and align efforts with organizational priorities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Procurement, Security, Engineering, etc.) to integrate improvements and resolve technical challenges.
- Evaluate and qualify new supplies for raw materials, ensuring alignment with current and future product requirements.
- Assess requirements for advanced testing equipment and introduce new methods/tests to meet evolving organizational and industry needs.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, internal SOPs, and other industry-specific quality regulations.
- Ensure strict adherence to national and organizational security protocols for handling sensitive materials and processes.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of research findings, test results, corrective actions, and improvement measures.
- Support the General Manager in workforce planning, skill assessment, and performance appraisal of staff engaged in R&D and quality activities.
- Perform other relevant technical tasks as assigned by the Group Head or Management.
Eligibility Criteria:
Education:
PhD in Applied Chemistry from a reputed university recognized by Higher Education Commission(HEC). Candidates holding any foreign degree are required to submit an HEC Equivalence Certificate.
Age:
Maximum 50 years as on the last date of submission of application to PSPC.
Experience:
At least 10 years’ experience with 03 years in supervisory (middle level) capacity.
Experience in polymer research or applications will be considered an added advantage.
Nationality: Pakistani
